Deni's gelding, Tonys Docs Jesse, was typical of the other Jesses Diablos that she had been around and we were so impressed with the athleticism and wonderful disposition that we decided we needed a few more Jesses Diablos on the place. Tony was a full sister to her gelding and our first acquisition. She is such a sweetheart and has those amazing reflexes that so impressed us. She had been a team penning horse for her prior owner. She was so cowy and athletic that she could single-handedly hold 30 head of tough cattle (with or without the rider!). She is now one of Deni's pets and a member of our broodmare band. Tony's 2006 AQHA incentive fund foal is for sale. |
Jesses Diablo is one of those horses that just kind of missed his chance. Trained in cutting, he was successful in at all the unapproved events, but injuries and circumstance prevented him from ever competing in an approved show. With a limited number of foals, his offspring have been local valued as good cowhorses, baby sitters, and playday horses even though they have not hit the approved events that make a horse look good on paper. Docs Diablo, Jesses' sire, was the 1979 NCHA Futurity Champion with Bill Freeman aboard. His breeding career was tragically cut short the following summer with his sudden death at a show. Most of his 44 offspring were kept for breeding animals and never shown. Marandy Case, Jesses' dam, was a ranch and using horse. She produced only four foals. However, two of them competed in NRHA events amassing over $2,000 each in weekend shows. Please don’t let the lack of black type on the horse himself disappoint you. His offspring have been proven in the pasture, on the trail, and in the rodeo arena. He has sired NCHA money earners, and PRCA roping and bulldogging horses. Sadly Jesse was euthanized in 2006 due to complications from old age. |
